Cafe Calma is a good looking addition to the resto bars in South Mumbai. This quaint rooftop cafe is positioned on the terrace of Resort Shalimar in Kemps Nook and provides an aerial view of the South of Mumbai. The cafe serves European, Mexican, Spanish and Continental delicacies however what stands out is that the finger-licking meals can be wholesome! The cafe makes use of natural and sustainable substances that are sourced responsibly and if they aren’t produced in-house, they’re rigorously curated; making certain freshness that offers the great meals. The Atmosphere
The cafe has an indoor and out of doors seating space. There are a number of tables indoor whereas many of the tables are within the open, overlooking the town. The interiors of the cafe are in a muted color palette of beige, white and brown. As we visited the cafe throughout the night hours, we selected to take a seat open air and benefit from the panoramic view of the town at nightfall with the chilly breeze that blew mid-winter. The expertise of a rooftop cafe overlooking the Mumbai skyline and the town lights from above, was in itself, an expertise to cherish.
The Meals
The menu is curated by chef Ashish and is an ideal mix of tasty choices with wholesome substances. We started with avocado tartines which included Hass avocados, curled zucchini, pistachio pesto, tomato chili butter, pistachio slivers and feta. The beneficiant quantity of avocado on skinny open bread with a touch of tangy twist of tomato chilli butter was an ideal appetizer to start out our meal.

The appetizer was adopted by Sumac fries. The golden-brown deep-fried potato sticks topped with spices have been crispy at each chunk. However what made the dish a winner was the spicy Aioli dip served together with the fries. The vegan dip was slightly swirl of flavour which added extra style to the fries.

The hen tacos have been skinny tortillas with roast hen, Aioli, Salsa verde, Hass avocados, Salsa roja and feta. The tacos have been spicy with the meat completely marinated and cooked. The flavour was merely lip-smacking.

The primary course included a Barbeque Burrito Bowl which was slightly bowl of wholesome, finger-licking goodness. It included tender hen items tossed in BBQ sauce, purple cabbage, kale, Hass avocados, roasted beetroot, leafy inexperienced veggies and garnished with pomegranate. There was a component of shock to be found in every morsel from spicy to tangy to candy. It was a filling meal stuffed with wholesome substances.

We concluded the meal with a Blueberry Panna Cotta which was a pastel colored mound with jelly-like texture. The presentation of the dessert was unimaginable with bluberry garnishing and finely-chopped dry-fruits on the facet. The skinny layer of crispy shortbread on the backside of the panna cotta gave a savoury end to the sweetness and was undoubtedly a plus level.
The Verdict
The cafe excels on the few however fabulous dishes which style divine with each morsel. The concept of wholesome consuming whereas satisfying the style buds can be interesting. The atmosphere with the beautiful views of the town are solely including extra successful factors to the cafe.
